Google will formally unveil the Pixel 11 lineup at an event on August 12, 2026, and the leaks have already settled the big design question. The Pixel 11 swaps its predecessor's two-tone camera bar for a solid, all-black visor, returning to the full-visor look of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The aluminum housing that surrounded the camera window on the Pixel 7 through Pixel 10 is gone (The Verge, 2026).
The other change is harder to explain. Google's store page for the Pixel 11 shows a short video with a glowing, color-shifting orb on one side of the camera bar. The store page shares no details, but the orb is likely the "Pixel Glow" light feature that has appeared in Android 17 betas, and it probably has something to do with Google's Gemini AI (The Verge, 2026).
What else is new?
The leaked CAD renders show noticeably thinner bezels than the Pixel 10, which had some thick bezels for a $700 phone. The rumored dimensions are 152.8 x 72 x 8.5mm, nearly identical to its predecessor. The device is expected to run on a Tensor G6 chipset with a 6.3-inch OLED display and a MediaTek M90 modem. A leaked retail listing indicates three colorways: pink-beige, forest green, and gray-lavender (Android Headlines, 2026).
Why does the camera bar matter?
The camera bar has become Google's identity. This marks the third year of the current design, and Google has said it expects a redesign every two to three years. The shift to an all-black visor is a subtle but real change, and the glowing orb hints at a new on-device AI feature that could be the "next obvious move" Google teased in its launch video (Engadget, 2026).

Almost certainly. Given all of the chaos caused by AI-driven demand for RAM, storage, and chips, it is likely that the Pixel 11 phones and Pixel Watch 5 will be more expensive than last year's models. The memory shortage that is squeezing midrange phones is also pushing up the bill of materials for flagships, and Google has absorbed tariffs in the past but may not be able to this year (Engadget, 2026).
